social ministry
When people are facing a crisis in life, a personal or family need or are at their most vulnerable, Redeemer responds with care and compassion, ready to serve and love our neighbor.
We believe Christ has freed us to embrace and care for people of all ages in any situation or context. We are called to do God’s work in a complex world.
Redeemer regularly support the following organizations: Lutheran World Relief, St. Stephan's Grace Community, ELCA World Hunger, Ramsey Responds, Family Promise, Lutheran Social Ministries of NJ, Center for Food Action, Habitat for Humanity, and the NJ Synod of the ELCA. In the past, the congregation has had meal packing events and put together School Kits, Baby Care Kits, Personal Care Kits, and Fleece Tied Blankets. Redeemer also has a thriving Mission Quilts ministry. Useful for shielding against the cold and rain, and for warm bedding, quilts can also be purposed as simple tents, floor coverings, or a wrap to hold a baby on a mother’s back. Through the gift of quilting, Redeemer reaches out to people in their time of greatest need with a strong message of hope that they are not alone.
