Click here to read news from our sponsored missionary, Daudi Msseemmaa:
We are a church that believes God is calling us into the world — together.
We believe at Redeemer we can make a difference! We are called to grow the church and to do God’s work of restoring and reconciling communities everywhere. As we work together and participate in God’s work in the world, we all grow stronger in faith as a church.
In the past, we have supported the ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission program that invites ELCA young adults ages 21-29 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service. As they offer themselves in service, ELCA young adults are shaped by the witness of our global neighbors. They share in the journeys of companion churches and organizations in countries around the world. Areas of service include, but are not limited to, health and development, congregational ministry, human rights, education, homelessness, addiction recovery, women’s issues and children and youth. All site placements provide opportunities for young adults to confront issues of wealth and poverty, racial privilege, economic disparity and globalization, all through the lens of faith.
Redeemer has until recently supported the Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) program in the country of Rwanda. Redeemer continues to support the Lutheran Church of Rwanda (LCR). LCR is a rapidly growing new Lutheran church body. Started by Rwandan refugees returning from Tanzania after the 1994 genocide, its 7,000 members and 37 pastors are organized into 28 parishes with 50 congregations.
