STATUS: Part Time: 25 hours per week; Position supervised by the Pastor
PURPOSE: To provide an intergenerational ministry to form in children and families a vibrant Christian faith. You will work with the Pastor, staff and Church Council committees to continually advocate for and foster a church environment that is welcoming and supportive of children and families.
QUALITIES, SKILLS AND TALENTS DESIRED:
1 Expressed faithful follower of Christ with a demonstrated passion for working with children, youth, and adults.
2 Experience creating and implementing faith formation programs in a parish setting; working with children and youth; building community among and between diverse people of all ages.
3 Demonstrated experience in volunteer coordination and/or leadership.
4 Ability to create and maintain web-based and social-media engagement opportunities within congregation.
5 A degree or advanced certificate in Education, Ministry or related field, or related experience preferred.
6 Understand and enjoy working both as part of a team and independently.
7 Open-minded leadership style, creative and positively persistent.
8 Have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
9 Ability to work in a flexible work environment, that includes Sundays during the program year.

Main responsibilities for Family and Youth Ministries include:
- Plan and provide faith formation activities and material for families and children that embrace intergenerational, home and worship contexts.
- Work closely with the pastor to recruit and train volunteers for faith formation ministries, including Sunday School, Confirmation, and Youth Ministry.
- Create and manage web-based catechetical material and social-media outreach for faith formation.
- Work closely with the pastor to coordinate the Confirmation program, including retreats, service projects, annual Affirmation of Baptism and Confirmation service and celebration, and other events.
- Interact with other committees to promote family-focused activities, such as family movie nights, Easter egg hunt, retreats, service projects, etc.
- Coordinate Summer Vacation Bible School (1 week per year).
